Crafters - networking thread

Welcome, fellow crafters!

This thread has two main purposes

1) Find the crafters.

2) Network with the crafters.

But how do we know who's a crafter and what they can craft?

The above spreadsheet shows what armor styles you have learned, what materials you can use, what traits you have researched - the whole lot.

So you want to be a crafter?

The spreadsheet can be modified by anyone. Instructions on how to add yourself to the document are found at the tab labeled "Instructions", as are instructions on how to edit the individual cells to show your skills. If you want assistance with this, please drop a message in this thread and someone will help you.

I am planning on levelling all of them, but if a priority needs to be set, i'll go with blacksmithing, because i'll be focussing on tanky/heavy armor etc...
One thing comes to mind for "all crafts at once": research timers ^^

Tell me about it. At least it's real time research timers, so that makes it easier to tackle

Idk... some ingame world clocks are 1 ingame day = 1 hour RL... i don't mind waiting half an hour RL for a research... :p

For what might be the first time really, I will try and dedicate myself (somewhat) to crafting. More precisely, blacksmithing, since I will be wearing heavy armor and swing around with a 2 hander, so it makes sense

So yea, put me down on that list

I'll be doing provisioning, alchemy and woodworking (.... and all the rest in secret, who am i even trying to kid ).



As for research timers, it applies to each profession by it's own - you can be researching e.g. dagger and fire staff at the same time - they don't affect each other in any way. Researching daggers and heavy chestpiece at the same time isn't possible though, as they're both blacksmithing. Researching 2nd dagger trait is what makes the timer go up: 6h for first trait, 12h for 2nd, 24h for 3rd etc. Having 3 researched traits on daggers when trying to research your first heavy chestpiece trait still only gives 6h research time on chest though
So doing all professions at once isn't a bottleneck for researching - doing all types within a profession is

I know, that's what i meant with actually doing all crafts all at once, mainly on researching as much as possible since it takes a long time and can be done all at once witout one affecting the other ^^

All shields are woodworking

My main will be putting skill points into blacksmithing and enchanting and only concentrating on those. My crafter alt will be for woodworking, clothier and provisioning ( plus lots of gathering mats, lol.) The only crafting profession I won't be training will be alchemy, but that might change at a later date.

Edit to add - Unless I need to use something for one of my charries, anything crafted I will happily trade/give to fellow guildies

I would LIKE to become Tamriels greatest armourer but know, from a mixed bag of experiences over the last three beta weekends, that I'm going to find it hard to resist tinkering with EVERYTHING!
Must focus... must focus... 'Oh look, a Kahjiit lore book! I wonder what their swords look like?', Ok... concentrate on gathering ore: iron, Jute, iron, Jute, Jute, Nirnroot, Jute...
Hmmm... & what do all these little lantern things I keep finding do? Oh wow, I'm an enchanter... & my Provisioning skill is levelling fast!

....& why no spears? Hmmm... if I could fix a dagger to the end of all this Maple I keep finding I could corner the market...

That's a thought. Can we make jewellery? And if so, which profession? I know we can enchant it, but I never considered the crafting possibilities.

It'll be fun finding out! That's what I'm loving most about this game: so many unanswered questions! Like what happens if a Khajiit gets turned into a werewolf...?

Not at launch - guess they wanted to keep something for later - or at least I hope so.

Since some of you talked about research times - researching one category complete (e.g. all traits for one handed swords in BS) takes 63 days real time (without any of the traits for quicker researching) So it definitly pays to keep research running all the time even if you only plan on doing a profession maybe sometimes in the far future...

I'll try to focus on clothing (for medium armor) and maybe enchanting (not so sure on the second yet) for the first alliance and plan to expand this for 2 more in the + alliance and the last 2 for the ++ content. Lets see if that works out.

I'll be doing them all eventually, but try to focus on alchemy and enchanting first

I'll just be doing them all. Blacksmithing, clothing and woodworking on my main and alchemy, enchanting and provisioning on my alt. That way I can unlock all styles and all special set crafting stations on one character.

Good to see there's plenty of obsessive crafters!

Omega, I might be off on research timers and you're probably right as to 1 hour in game = 1 hour research time countdown. Although, I had a feeling researching the critical resistance trait that the 12 hour countdown was ticking overnight, but it might be because I had waaay to many hours and suffered a major impairment of brain functionality as a result

Please post your in game user-ID. I'll check the ones of those who have posted so far, so no need to edit now unless your in game user id has not been posted here .

And please let me know if the list could have a better layout, or if I make mistakes.
