Hey all,
I noticed this week that some Alithians had some issues with getting addons to work after the Greymoor chapter update, so I thought I'd share some info on the two most common reasons addons are suddenly disabled after a new update came out. (Assuming of course you have updated all your addons first)
#1: Addons are out of date.
To check this, open up your add-on menu by pressing Esc and then selecting Add-Ons from the menu
If your screen looks like this, add the check mark next to "Allow out of date add-ons"
After that, it should look more like this:
Doing a quick UI Reload (by pressing "E" after making any changes in the add-on menu) should have you bak running with all your favorite addons,
WARNING: Not all addons will work when a new version is released, so you might need to play a bit and selectively disable some addons when you have issues after toggling this option. Note which addons are broken, disable these for now and enable them when Minion shows an update.
#2: Addon introduces a new dependency
In some cases, addon authors add new libraries their addon depends on when releasing a new version. Unfortunately, Minion will not automatically follow these new dependencies and install the needed libs.
To check for missing dependencies, go back to the addon menu and look for something that looks like this:
Click on the little arrow in front to expand and see exactly which dependency is missing:
Find this addon in Minion, install it and reload UI to see if your addon will now work with shiny new features!
Hope this helps some people who might have been having addon issues!
